Experience: Minimum 5–8 years in software testing with strong focus on functional testing of ERP, financial systems, or enterprise applications
Role Purpose
The Functional Test Engineer – AI Enabled Quality Engineering will be responsible for validating functional correctness, business process compliance, and end-user workflow accuracy across IFMIS modules. The role ensures that all financial processes operate in alignment with public sector requirements, accounting standards, and business rules.
The role will also leverage AI-enabled tools to enhance test case design, improve coverage of business scenarios, and support intelligent defect identification and reporting.
Key Responsibilities
Design, develop, and execute functional test cases based on business and system requirements
Validate end-to-end business processes across IFMIS modules including Budgeting, Procurement, Treasury, Payroll, Revenue, and General Ledger
Review functional specifications and ensure testability and requirement clarity
Participate in requirement analysis workshops and contribute to test scenario identification
Execute system, regression, and functional acceptance testing cycles
• Validate business rules, calculations, approvals, and workflow configurations within the system
Support User Acceptance Testing (UAT) preparation and execution with business stakeholders
Perform data validation and reconciliation across functional transactions
Identify, document, and track functional defects with clear reproduction steps
Collaborate with developers and business analysts to resolve functional gaps
Apply AI-assisted testing tools for scenario generation and coverage optimization
Ensure traceability between requirements, test cases, and execution results
Support compliance validation against financial governance and audit requirements
Assist in improving functional test libraries and reusable test assets
Required Qualifications & Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Finance, or related discipline
Experience in functional testing of ERP or financial systems (IFMIS, SAP, Oracle, or equivalent)
Understanding of financial processes, accounting workflows, and government financial systems is an advantage
Experience with test management tools (Jira, Azure DevOps, HP ALM, or similar)
Basic understanding of API and integration concepts
Exposure to Agile or hybrid delivery environments
Certifications
Required:
ISTQB Certified Tester – Foundation Level (CTFL)
Preferred:
ISTQB Advanced Level – Test Analyst
ISTQB Certified Tester – AI Testing (CT-AI)
Domain certification in Public Financial Management (PFM) or ERP systems
