Position Summary 

The Sr. SQAE is a senior individual contributor responsible for executing and owning functional testing activities across core banking systems, with a primary focus on TCS BaNCS. 

The role focuses on validating end-to-end banking workflows, transaction processing, and data integrity across integrated systems. It requires close collaboration with Business, Product, and Engineering teams to ensure system behavior aligns with defined business requirements and banking standards. 

The position operates in a structured, delivery-driven environment and contributes to quality outcomes through thorough test execution, defect validation, and support for release readiness and compliance requirements. 

Key Responsibilities 

• Own functional testing for assigned modules and releases within TCS BaNCS 
• Analyze business and functional requirements and translate them into test scenarios, test cases, and test data 
• Execute functional, regression, integration, and exploratory testing across features and releases 
• Validate end-to-end banking workflows, including transaction processing, account operations, and system integrations 
• Verify system behavior against business rules, expected outcomes, and acceptance criteria 
• Identify, log, track, and retest defects with clear reproduction steps, impact analysis, and supporting evidence 
• Collaborate with Product Owners, Business Analysts, and Engineering teams to clarify requirements and resolve issues 
• Participate in sprint ceremonies, requirement discussions, and defect triage sessions 
• Validate bug fixes and perform regression testing to ensure system stability and consistency 
• Perform API testing and validate integration points across core banking and external systems 
• Conduct database validation using SQL queries to ensure data accuracy and integrity 
• Validate data flow and consistency across systems, especially in transaction-based and integrated workflows 
• Support SIT and UAT cycles, ensuring proper execution and issue tracking 
• Provide clear updates on testing progress, defects, and risks for assigned scope 
• Escalate blockers, risks, and issues in a timely and structured manner 
• Follow QA standards, STLC practices, and organizational delivery and compliance guidelines

Experience 

• 6+ years of experience in Software Quality Assurance / Testing 
• Strong experience in functional, regression, integration, and system testing 
• Experience owning testing activities for modules or features across multiple releases 
• Mandatory: Hands-on experience with core banking systems 
• Mandatory: Experience working on TCS BaNCS core banking platform 
• Strong understanding of core banking workflows such as Accounts (CASA), Payments (local and international transfers, SWIFT, RTGS), Customer Management, Lending, and transaction processing 
• Hands-on experience in one or more TCS BaNCS modules such as CASA, Payments, Lending, Trade Finance, or Customer Management is highly preferred 
• Experience in validating end-to-end transaction flows and integrated system behavior 
• Hands-on experience in API testing and database validation 
• Experience in defect lifecycle management, including triage and impact analysis 
• Experience working in Agile, Scrum, Hybrid, or project-based delivery environments 
• Experience supporting SIT, UAT, and release validation cycles 
• Exposure to automation testing frameworks is an added advantage 

Technical Skills 

• Strong functional testing expertise across banking applications 
• Core Banking Domain Knowledge (TCS BaNCS) 
• Test case design, execution, and defect lifecycle management 
• API Testing (Postman / REST / SOAP) 
• Database validation (SQL queries, data verification) 
• Data integrity and transaction validation across systems 
• Understanding of STLC, QA practices, and release validation processes 
• Agile / Scrum delivery models 
• Tools: JIRA, Azure, TestRail, Zephyr, HP ALM, or equivalent 
• Automation (good to have): Selenium / Cypress / Playwright or similar frameworks 
• Performance testing exposure (good to have): JMeter or similar tools 

Languages 

• English: Fluent (Professional Working Proficiency) 
• Arabic: Speaking or understanding – Good to have 

Certifications 

• ISTQB Foundation Level (CTFL) – Preferred 
• ISTQB Agile Tester or equivalent – Good to have 
• Banking or core banking-related certifications – Good to have
