Position Summary 

The SQAE is an individual contributor role responsible for executing functional testing and validating business workflows within web and enterprise applications, preferably in banking or financial services environments. 

The role focuses on ensuring system behavior aligns with defined business requirements, including validation of end-to-end workflows, transaction processing, and data integrity across integrated systems. The position operates in a structured, fast-paced delivery environment and requires close coordination with Product, Engineering, and business stakeholders. 

The role contributes to quality assurance outcomes through disciplined test execution, accurate defect reporting, and adherence to established QA processes, compliance standards, and release timelines. 

 Key Responsibilities 

• Execute functional and regression testing with focus on business workflows, transaction scenarios, and system behavior validation 
• Analyze business and functional requirements and translate them into structured test scenarios, test cases, and test data 
• Validate system functionality against defined business rules, expected outcomes, and acceptance criteria 
• Perform functional, regression, smoke, sanity, and exploratory testing across features, modules, and releases 
• Identify, log, track, and retest defects with clear reproduction steps, impact assessment, and supporting evidence 
• Coordinate with Product Owners, Business Analysts, and Engineering teams to clarify requirements and resolve defects 
• Participate in sprint ceremonies, requirement discussions, and defect triage sessions 
• Validate bug fixes and perform regression testing to ensure system stability and consistency 
• Perform API testing using tools such as Postman and validate responses against functional and integration requirements 
• Conduct database validation using SQL queries to verify data accuracy and integrity 
• Validate end-to-end data flow and consistency across systems, particularly in transaction-based and integrated workflows 
• Support release readiness by ensuring completion of assigned testing scope and providing clear status updates 
• Maintain accurate test documentation, execution records, and defect tracking artifacts 
• Escalate risks, issues, and blockers in a timely and structured manner 
• Follow QA standards, STLC practices, and organizational delivery and compliance guidelines

 Experience 

• 4–5 years of experience in Software Quality Assurance 
• Strong experience in functional, regression, smoke, sanity, and exploratory testing 
• Proven experience in validating business workflows, system behavior, and end-to-end functional scenarios 
• Hands-on experience in API testing and database validation 
• Experience in defect analysis, logging, retesting, and regression validation 
• Experience in requirement analysis, test scenario identification, and risk assessment 
• Experience working in Agile, Scrum, Hybrid, or project-based delivery environments 
• Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams during sprint cycles and release activities 
• Exposure to transaction-based systems and data validation across integrated platforms 
• Preferred: Experience in banking, financial services, or fintech domain, with understanding of transaction flows and business processes 

 Technical Skills 

• Functional, Regression, Smoke, Sanity, and Exploratory Testing 
• Test Case Design, Review, and Execution 
• Defect Analysis, Tracking, Retesting, and Regression Validation 
• API Testing (Postman / REST basics) 
• Database Validation (SQL queries) 
• Data validation and consistency checks across integrated systems 
• Understanding of STLC, defect lifecycle, and QA governance practices 
• Agile / Scrum and project-based delivery models 
• Familiarity with automation testing concepts and execution 
• Tools: JIRA, Azure, TestRail, Zephyr, or equivalent test management tools 

 Languages 

• English: Fluent (Professional Working Proficiency) 
• Arabic: Native Speaker (Mandatory) – required for business communication, requirement validation, and system output verification 

Certifications 

• ISTQB Foundation Level (CTFL) – Preferred
