SQAE 

Position Summary: 

The SQAE is an individual contributor role responsible for test execution, defect validation, and quality assurance support across assigned projects or releases. The role operates within a fast-paced, project-based environment and involves hands-on testing, test documentation, defect tracking, and coordination with internal teams. 

The role is accountable for supporting quality outcomes through accurate test execution, timely defect reporting, regression validation, and adherence to established QA processes. It also contributes to release readiness by ensuring assigned testing activities are completed in line with quality standards, compliance requirements, and delivery timelines. 

Key Responsibilities: 

• Executed test scenarios and test cases across features, modules, and releases  
• Prepared and maintained test cases, test data, and execution records  
• Performed functional, regression, smoke, sanity, exploratory, and basic API testing  
• Identified, logged, tracked, and retested defects with clear reproduction steps and supporting evidence  
• Worked with QA, Product, and Engineering teams to clarify requirements and resolve issues  
• Participated in sprint ceremonies, QA discussions, defect triage, and release validation activities  
• Validated bug fixes and performed regression testing to ensure system stability  
• Reviewed requirement updates and executed testing based on assigned scope and priorities  
• Maintained test documentation, execution status, and defect records for assigned work  
• Escalated blockers, risks, and test issues in a timely manner  
• Performed basic database validation to verify data accuracy  
• Assisted in executing automated test cases where applicable  
• Validated application behaviour across builds, environments, and workflows  
• Ensured test evidence and execution records were complete and up to date  
• Followed QA standards, STLC practices, and delivery expectations. 

Soft skills: 

• Strong ownership and execution discipline in assigned testing activities  
• Clear communication and coordination with QA, Product, and Engineering teams  
• Strong attention to detail and observation skills during testing  
• Ability to manage assigned tasks and timelines effectively  
• Willingness to learn, adapt, and improve testing practices  
• Good analytical thinking and problem-solving abilities 

Experience: 

• 2+ years of experience in Software Quality Assurance. 
• Experience in functional, regression, smoke, and sanity testing. 
• Basic understanding of API testing and database validation. 
• Experience with defect logging, retesting, and regression validation. 
• Experience working in Agile, Scrum, Hybrid, or project-based delivery environments. 
• Experience in working with cross-functional teams during test cycles and release activities. 
• Exposure to automation testing tools or automated test execution is an added advantage. 

Technical skills: 

• Understanding of STLC, defect lifecycle, and test execution practices. 
• Experience in Manual and Regression testing. 
• Basic understanding of API and database validation. 
• Experience with test and defect management tools such as JIRA, TestRail, Zephyr, or similar tools. 
• Familiarity with automation testing is an added advantage. 

Certifications: 

• ISTQB Foundation Level (CTFL) - Good to have.
