Position Summary: 

The Sr. SQAE is a senior individual responsible for end-to-end test planning, design, and execution across web, mobile, and enterprise systems in fast-paced, multi-project environments. Combines strong hands-on experience in manual, automation, and performance testing with a focus on delivering reliable and production-ready releases. 

Experienced in building effective test coverage, managing defect lifecycles, and ensuring release readiness through structured validation and reporting. Brings working knowledge of domain-driven systems and enterprise platforms, with the ability to understand complex workflows and integrations. 

Also contributes to automation initiatives, supports performance testing activities, and applies practical understanding of AI-driven systems to improve test case design and validation approaches. Actively supports team collaboration and guides junior engineers to maintain consistent quality standards across deliveries. 

Key Responsibilities: 

• Owned test planning and execution for features, modules, and releases, ensuring strong test coverage 
• Prepared test scenarios, test cases, and test data based on business and technical requirements 
• Performed functional, regression, integration, exploratory, and API testing across web and mobile applications 
• Identified, logged, and tracked defects with clear reproduction steps, impact analysis, and supporting evidence 
• Worked closely with Product, Engineering, and QA teams to clarify requirements and improve coverage 
• Participated in sprint ceremonies, defect triage, and release discussions to support delivery cycles 
• Supported release validation activities, ensuring quality gates were met before deployment 
• Reviewed requirement changes and assessed their impact on test scope, coverage, and regression needs 
• Maintained test documentation, execution records, and traceability across assigned work 
• Investigated recurring defects and supported root cause analysis to improve product quality 
• Contributed to automation efforts using Selenium/Cypress, improving regression efficiency 
• Supported performance testing activities and validated results where applicable 
• Performed API validation and database checks to ensure data integrity and workflow accuracy 
• Validated application behaviour across environments, builds, and integration points 
• Analyzed defects, logs, and test results to identify patterns and potential quality risks 
• Guided junior QA engineers on testing approach and day-to-day QA practices 
• Supported cross-functional teams in validating fixes and maintaining release confidence 
• Followed QA standards, compliance requirements, and delivery timelines 

Soft skills: 

• Strong ownership and accountability in handling end-to-end testing activities 
• Clear communication and coordination across QA, Product, and Engineering teams 
• Good planning, prioritization, and time management across multiple tasks and releases 
• Practical decision-making under tight timelines and release pressure 
• Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving for defect investigation and root cause analysis 
• Ability to guide and support junior QA engineers in day-to-day activities 
• Hands-on mindset with willingness to support automation and performance testing efforts 
• Feedback-oriented approach, contributing to continuous improvement of QA practices 

Experience: 

• 4–5 years of overall experience in Software Quality Assurance 
• Hands-on experience in functional, regression, integration, and API testing 
• Working knowledge of database validation and data verification techniques 
• Experience contributing to automation testing and regression coverage 
• Exposure to performance testing activities is an added advantage 
• Experience working in Agile, Scrum, Hybrid, or project-based environments. 
• Experience in collaborating with cross-functional teams during test cycles and release 
• Experience in guiding junior engineers or acting as an informal QA lead 

Technical skills: 

• Strong understanding of STLC, defect lifecycle, and test execution governance 
• Hands-on experience in manual, automation, regression, and integration testing 
• Working knowledge of database validation and data integrity checks 
• Basic understanding of performance testing concepts and related tools 
• Experience with tools such as JIRA, TestRail, Zephyr, HP ALM, and Azure DevOps 
• Familiarity with automation tools and frameworks including Selenium, Cypress, and Playwright 
• Good understanding of logs, environments, build validation, and release verification practices 

Certifications: 

• ISTQB Foundation Level (CTFL) – preferred. 
• ISTQB Agile Tester or equivalent Agile testing certification – good to have. 
• ISTQB Test Automation Engineer – good to have
